LAKE GEORGE IS FULL, 83 DEGREES & CLEAR
June 2008

Bass fishing is fair to good. The bass are all moving to summer patterns and top water action has been good early. Larger crank baits in the shallows like the Mann’s Baby Minus One has been good until the sun is up. Crank baits and all white buzz baits will also work.

After the top water bite wanes, move off to the creek ledges and use your locator and mark the old creek channels with at least 8 markers. Now it pays off with a large Zoom u tail worm or lizard on and over the creek channels. Depths are only 8 to 12 feet. And use a black and blue jig and pig even in the dead of summer. The bass eat crawfish all year. The try a large crank bait like the Bagley’s D B III Dredge and drag it deep on and over the ledges, and use the Tennessee Shad pattern. The DT16 in hot mustard is also working. Now move back and cast on and over these deep areas with almost any baits. It’s hard to describe how this can help you find and catch bass that are rarely fished. Use the marker buoys to stay on the channel drops.
