Team High Strung, Misokat and Irish Mist had a very productive day fishing the Tournament. We left the dock at 5am and headed out from the inlet about 18 miles. It wasn't long after our lines hit the water that we had our first large blue fish in the box. After four hours on blues we headed back in towards the reef to pick some Fluke and have a shot at that money also.
Lines in and Mike pulled the first fish into the boat @ 19". After boating some Sea Bass and Fluke it was time to head back in to the scales at the Elks Club. As we arrived at the scales with ten minutes to spare :confused:our fist view was of two extremely large fish. One Fluke and one Blue fish. It was then we realized our fish were of a smaller size.
It was a great day of fishing with good people onboard. After weigh in The Lacey Elks held the Tournament awards party. Plenty of good food, drink and live music. :)

Hey Irish....
Were you the one running with the blue cooler at the end that weighed in 3 bluefish?
I was the one with the largest bluefish. 35+ inches and 15.95 pounds (We'll call it 16 pounds :) ).
It was a great day as far as weather but the fishing was slow.
We landed the bluefish about a mile inside Garden State North on a small wreck that I spotted on my GPS. We actually caught it on a light tackle outfit with 8 pound test and no shock leader. What a fight.
We weighed in at 2:09 and had to wait 51 AGONIZING minutes for the last weigh ins. One genteleman came in with a huge blue Thought I was done. It wound up weighing 15.4 pounds.
I didn't enter the Calcutta so that gentleman got the Calcutta money so everyone shared the wealth. Thats OK by me. I'm not greedy.
I look forward to meeting more of the guys that belong to the group.

Greetings Ken,
No, that wasn't us with the blue cooler weighing in.. We did it the old fashion way. Since we had zero minutes to make the weigh in, all we did was secure the boat at our marina and toss the fish into a bucket with ice and off we went to the scales. lol.
Congrats of the first place blue especially with that light tackle.. You guys were lucky to boat that fish on 8 lb line. (Very well done) The people that won the Calcutta (Bluefish) are friends, when they found out you weren't in it we'll you can imagine the excitement on their part. Did you even know they ran a Calcutta?
The tournament was great for sure. The food they prepared was unreal for a gathering like that. The Elks are a very class act for sure!!! They ran a good Tournament!
